This hourglass harks from the days of expensive telephone calls. A novelty vintage timer.

It is made of wood and plastic. I think it has sand inside it.

The holder measures 10.9cm (4.3") in length and 2.9cm (1.1") in width.

It has "Watch your bill

Time is money"

and a picture of a vintage telephone on it.

I don't have a timer to measure a precise timing for it but it is definitely an hourglass for less than five minutes duration.
