Vintage Patons Knitting Book , No. 778 Meltingly Feminine! The soft spoken knits... All rather romantic. Some inclined to shimmer. OOP
 
 
 
Vintage pattern book consisting of 20 pages (including the covers) of knitting and crochet patterns and pictures for mohair garments.
 
It contains patterns for a pullover with crocheted raglan sleeves. The neckline and hem are edged with crocheted scallops, the little round neckline has a button at the back. 
 
A gently shaped skirt, widening slightly around the ankles. Worked all over in treble crochet, with three rows of crocheted scallops at the hemline. The waistband is worked in double crochet, then threaded with elastic. the skirt zips up the back, buttons at the waist-line.
 
A terrace dress with a magnificent spread of skirt, seamless, and knitted in an asymmetrical Fair Isle. The long, straight bodice is romantically hooded; the hood is lined with silk that matches the colour in the skirt. Satin binding circles the slightly dropped waistline, edges the armholes and hood, and conceals the long, front-opening zipper. 
 
A soft little evening top with wide-scooped neckline, knitted to just below the bosom, then flaring out in a frill of crochet. With crochet scallops at the armholes and neckline and a narrow velvet ribbon threaded just above the frill.
 
A soft little jacket, a la Chanel. Knitted throughout in a diamond-pane pattern, either with long or with three-quarter sleeves. Bound all round with narrow bands of satin. 
 
A narrow sheathy dress that blouses gently above an elasticized waistline. Knitted in a lacy pattern of interlocking Vees ... to make either sleeveless or with long, close-fitting sleeves. The dress has a slightly scooped neckline, is nipped in at the waist with a satin belt with a flat front bow pinned down with a brooch. 
 
An evening pullover with a wide portrait collar and straight-falling, set-in sleeves. Small floppy bows parade down the front. Worked all over in treble crochet.

It is in good vintage condition. It has the usual amount of wear and tear for a vintage pattern book.
