Vintage English Toiletries Set

 

 

 

This toiletry set is made in England.

 

It comprises a brush, mirror, nail file, and four glass bottles with metal lids. It has a slot for a comb (which is missing). 

 

It is made of leather. It has a prov. pt. 8219-37.

 

The brush is made of plastic with bristles. The brush, including the handle, is 19.8cm (7.8") long. The bristle section is 9cm (3.5") wide at the widest point and 10cm (3.9") long. The bristles are in a reasonable condition. It has a lovely Art Deco appearance. 

 

The mirror measures 12.6cm (5") x 7.5cm (3"). It is double-sided. One of the corners has slight damage. 

 

The nail file measures 10cm (3.9") in length. It is chromium-plated. It is stamped "British Made Triple Cut." It has rust. 

 

The longest glass bottle measures 16.1cm (6.3") with the lid on. It has holes in the lid for powder. It's base measures 3.1cm (1.2") x 2.8cm (1.1"). 

 

The next bottle is possibly for perfume. It has a cork stopper under the metal lid. It measures 9.3cm (3.7") with the lid on. The base measures 5.6cm (2.2") x 3.1cm (1.2").

 

The two smallest bottles have diameters of 4.8cm (1.9"). They have heights of 3.9cm (1.5") with the lid on.

 

All the toiletries are held in position by straps of leather.

 

The zipper works smoothly. It has some resistance but is secure and in overall good condition.

 

The leather case has a vintage worn look about it. It measures 19cm (7.5") x 22cm (8.7") with a depth of 5.3cm (2.1")(when closed).
