Vintage Pair of Bakelite Door Knobs and Plates
 
 
Please remember Australian Standards have changed over the decades since all these items were manufactured. These products may not meet current Australian Standards and are sold as a memory from the past.
 
Bakelite confirmed with hot water test and the clunk test. The knobs have a diameter of 4cm (1.5 inches) and project out 4.6cm (1.8").
 
The door knobs and cover plates have been painted with gold coloured paint at some stage. There are still remnants of gold paint. A search on the internet reveals there are many paint strippers available that will clean up the bakelite effectively and safely.
 
The door lock cover plates have dimensions of 13.8cm (5.4") x 3.7cm (1.5"). They are both marked "Lane No. 88".
